Welcome to Animal Welfare Coalition

We are dedicated to helping reunite pets and owners while supporting the community. We are driven by our love for animals and our commitment to ensuring their well-being.

What we do

Animal Welfare Coalition (AWC) is a Valley Center, CA (North Inland San Diego - Unincorporated), 100% volunteer non-profit (501c3) which aims to help the residents and animals, in our community.

 

This is also inclusive of unincorporated areas that do not have a local Animal Welfare presence,

  • Bonsall,

  • Fallbrook

  • Pauma Valley

  • Palomar

  • Unincorporated Escondido

  • Valley Center

This group collaborates with San Diego Animal Services (SDAS) and is an animal welfare partner with San Diego Humane Society (SDHS)

 

AWC is an Animal Welfare group, NOT a rescue.

We help with the following. (current)

- Scanning found pets for a microchip, to help reunite with owner

- Outside traditional vet/shelter business hours*

- During business hours if resident cant get animal to vet/shelter*

*Depends on volunteer scanner availability

- Contact us via Facebook Group: Valley Center Pets and Animals

- Providing referrals to low-cost S/N for personal Cats / Dogs

- Coordinating getting Feral Cats/Community Cats fixed for free.

- Lend traps to use for Feline TNR – with Deposit

- Facilitate local adoption events with San Diego Animal Services

- Provide information and options for relinquishment of pets

- Help coordinate with SDAS intake of abandoned, lost pets

- Represent Valley Center in County Board of Supervisors, bi Annual Revitalization Meeting, as SDAS community partner

- Supplement existing Human Food Pantries with Pet food/supplies

 

 

We hope to help with the following. (future)

  • Identify volunteers to transport pets to vet, shelter (personal pets and strays)

  • Assist in fundraising, finding sponsorship for, locating donors to help low-income residents with;

 

  • Mobile Clinic Vetting Co Pays,

    • Rabies

    • Vax

    • Spay/Neuter

    • Micro Chip

 

  • Optional Vetting, (funds available) (Optional) – Help cover other vetting for animals owned by general public in region covered

    • Flea treatment – worms, parasites, itching, skin problems

    • Deworming – parasites

    • Dog License

 

  • Other Vetting Needs (Funds available)

    • Urgent Medical Vetting for wounded or medically in need Animals

    • Heartworm Treatment/Prevention

 

  • Other Animal Needs

    • Cat Litter

    • Training

We do NOT do the following.

​

- Trap Feral cats for S/N and/or remove them from your area

- Trap/Catch Dogs

- Work as a rescue group with animals being fostered for adoption
